For five seasons, the Green Bay Packers had Daryn Colledge serving them at offensive line.

For eight years, America will have him serving our country.

Colledge, whose NFL career finished in 2014, has chosen to enter the Army National Guard.

He shared this message on social media.

Colledge did not say if any recent terrorist events have led him to take this step, but it happened on the day of the Brussels attacks, where dozens died at an airport and transit station in Belgium.
