New Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett will be wearing number 80 this season, according to the fans.
On Friday, after signing with Green Bay, Bennett sent out a Twitter poll asking for fans to vote between four possible numbers.

Bennett wore number 88 in New England last season, which was worn by wide receiver/running back Ty Montgomery for the Packers in 2016. Montgomery was expected to switch to a more conventional running back number this year, but apparently he will stick with that number going forward.
Me and Rod Bernstine have something in common.... and it's not #88 #keepingit pic.twitter.com/dv3Gpsf7rA

Earlier in the offseason, head coach Mike McCarthy said that Montgomery would be switching numbers. Running backs are only allowed to wear numbers between 20-49, according to league rules.
Bennett signed a three-year, $21 million contract to join the Packers. He caught 55 balls for 701 yards and seven touchdowns with the Patriots last year.
