BROWN DEER -- Police in Brown Deer came through in a big way for a local woman and veteran who fell victim to a ticket scam.
According to police, the woman paid for tickets to the Green Bay Packers game against the Dallas Cowboys by sending a check to someone in Florida. She was hoping to surprise her fiance with the tickets as a birthday gift.
By the time she found out she had been scammed, the woman was out more than $500.
Police say word of the scam circulated around the department, and officers pooled their money to surprise her with tickets to a different Packers game, as well as tickets to her first Wisconsin Badgers game.
The surprise was caught on camera, and as you might expect, the woman's response was emotional:
