Golf Advisor names Wisconsin the top golf destination to visit in 2017

Posted

Florida? Nah. Ireland? Not a chance.

Wisconsin beat out those and many other worthy options to earn Golf Advisor's crown as the top golf destination to visit in 2017.

"Wisconsin is only getting deeper with bucket-list golf," Golf Advisor says on its website. "Central Wisconsin is set to boom as the Midwest's next hot golf destination."

The honor is no doubt in large part due to one of the state's premiere courses, Erin Hills, which is hosting the prestigious 2017 U.S. Open. But Golf Advisor lists several other new or interesting courses to visit in places like Nekoosa, Stevens Point, Green Lake, and Wisconsin Dells.

Visitors won't be able to actually play on Erin Hills until after the U.S. Open, as Golf Advisor notes, but the good news is there are plenty of other options for visitors looking to hit the links.
