A high school football player in Ohio died after he was injured during a game on Friday night.
Andre Jackson, a 17-year-old junior at Euclid High School died Sunday from a small bowel laceration. He was injured in Friday's football game after being hit in the stomach.
Investigators from the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office said Jackson died from blunt impact to the abdomen. Video from the game showed Jackson was hit by an opponent's foot in the abdomen during the game.
Jackson died Sunday, one day after he was released from the hospital. His family said he had no underlying health conditions and they called for help when they found him unresponsive.
Friday's homecoming game for Euclid High School will still be played as scheduled, according to school district officials. There will be a moment of silence and a balloon release prior to the start of the game.
