WAUWATOSA -- Studies show at least one in five people aren't getting screened for colon cancer. Those who are are at average risk should begin screening at age 50.
Doctor Kirk Ludwig, the chief of colorectal surgery at Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and cancer survivor Rob Vite joined "Live at Daybreak" to share more about Get Your Rear in Gear, a 5K Run/Walk to help raise funds for colon cancer awareness efforts in the Milwaukee-area.
They hope the run will serve as a reminder for more people to get out and realize the importance of taking care of their health and look for the warning signs. This includes having a bloody stool and/or abdominal pains.
