KENOSHA -- A 5-year-old child was trapped under a car and taken to the hospital by Flight for Life Thursday.
The accident happened near Curtis Strange Elementary around 2:00 p.m., right when school was letting out. A car was parked near a tree, a child got out, and that's when he was hit.
Police say the 5-year-old was only trapped for a few minutes. He has serious injuries, but they're likely non-life threatening.
The boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Parents and grandparents say it's a quiet neighborhood, but when school lets out it's a different story.
"I usually have to park or go down about a block to park because it's just crazy out here...with all the traffic and everything," Laurie O'Guin says. "A lot of the kids will just take off running and it's like 'wait, you guys got to wait.'"
Police say the woman who hit the child is cooperating with police.
