WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A Washington County man is refunded more than $800 after reaching out to our Call 4 Action office.

A viewer was frustrated over an expensive fix, for his SUV to maintain speed on the freeway.

John Walejewski says his family had two scary experiences in his 2013 Nissan Rogue he purchased two months ago.

He says the first incident happened when his son suddenly could not accelerate more than 45 miles per hour on the freeway.

"His foot's to the floor and you can't go any faster. He's got people going by flipping him the finger," said Walejewski.

He says the second incident happened on another hot day when his wife was an hour into her drive.

"It was scary, made her angry," said Walejewski.

He showed us he was on the hook to pay $848.87 for the modifications that boosted the cooling system for his transmission because he was 'a month and 17 days over his 5 year/60,000 mile warranty.'

On Monday, a spokesperson for Nissan told us they will refund him for those repairs stating:

Our Consumer Affairs team reviewed the case this morning and made the decision to refund the customer for the repairs due the vehicle’s short time out of warranty parameters. They will be contacting him today to arrange that action.

Walajewski tells us he is thankful for the refund, and as far as he can tell the fix has worked.
