A wanted man in Milwaukee attacked a police officer near Detroit after a traffic stop Sunday.

A Taylor, Michigan police officer pulled over Jonathan Boyd, who told the officer he did not have a valid driver’s license. But before the officer could arrest Boyd, punches were thrown. The officer said Boyd reached for his gun.

Boyd was later caught and taken into custody after a foot chase. The officer was not seriously hurt.

In Michigan, Boyd is charged with assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest. In Wisconsin, he is wanted for forgery after trying to withdraw cash using someone else's checkbook.
