MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin's largest city is getting some flattering attention from a major fashion and lifestyle magazine.
Though many locals aren't fond of the old term "Rust Belt," Vogue heaped praise on Milwaukee this week as one of five travel destinations that are "making this American region shine again."
What did Vogue like about the Cream City?
"America's Dairyland is playing host to an emerging culinary and microbrewery culture, rivaling even the largest of its city neighbors," the publication argues.
The list of spots the magazine recommends for readers will look familiar to locals, including favorites like The Iron Horse Hotel, Purple Door Ice Cream, Braise, Bryant's Cocktail Lounge, and too many others to list. You can look at the full rundown here.
As far as attractions, the Harley-Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, the Miller Caves, and Pabst Mansion all made the cut.
