MILWAUKEE - With the official launch of UberEATS Thursday, there's a new way to get dinner to your door.
"I think with the delivery service a restaurant and the customer want a fast, reliable delivery company, and delivery people," Steve Schmacker said.
Schmacker works for Sobelman's Pub & Grill in Milwaukee. He said he welcomes the city's newest food delivery service.
"They're on time. They're here. They're friendly, they look professional," Schmacker said.
A new restaurant in the area, Bumstead Provisions in Bay View, is also on board with the service. Owner Mike Bodow said he's hopeful the UberEATS delivery service will help him expand his brand.
"Everyone knows Uber," Bodow said.
"[Bumstead Provisions has] been around for less than five months, so it's a great way for us to find kind of a broader market," he continued.
But just how efficient is the UberEATS delivery service when compared to other companies like Grub Hub and Meal Mobile?
"Every time the driver shows up, the food is coming up right as they show up, it's incredible," Bodow said.
The fast rate of delivery is also something TODAY"S TMJ4 and The NOW Milwaukee found to be true. When ordering the same meal from Sobelman's using UberEATS, Grub Hub, and Meal Mobile, UberEATS delivered the order of a burger and onion rings in 33 minutes, while the other two companies took upwards of two hours to deliver.
