Drinking and driving is bad enough, but authorities say two Wisconsin men took it to another level over the weekend — drinking, driving and playing Pokemon Go.
Dane County Sheriff’s Office officials say two vehicle crashes early Saturday were linked to individuals who admitted to playing Pokemon Go while driving.
According to Channel3000.com, a 25-year-old Madison man failed to negotiate a curve in the town of Verona and hit a pole at about 2:30 a.m.
He was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated, inattentive driving and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Also in Verona and a few hours later, a 26-year-old man drove off the road and hit a tree.
The car burst into flames but the driver was able to get out. He was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated, not having insurance and operating left of center.
Dane County officials are reminding drivers to pay attention to the road.
