MILWAUKEE — A semi-truck fire caused a major Milwaukee freeway to close for several hours overnight. One person was transported to the hospital as a result of the crash.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash around 8:55 p.m. Sunday when they discovered a semi-truck engulfed in flames. Officials say that the truck lost a front tire which caused it to strike the median and hit another vehicle before it caught on fire.
Portions of the freeway remained closed until about 1:30 a.m. Monday.
