RACINE — All southbound lanes of I-41/94 in Racine are reopened after a closure Friday morning.
The Racine County Sheriff's Department said all southbound lanes of Interstate 41/94 at County G were closed due to a semi fire.
Officials say a deputy noticed a semi-trailer that was traveling on the highway at 1:41 a.m. that was on fire.
The trailer pulled over and the driver said he was unaware the semi was on fire. The driver was removed safely before the trailer became fully engulfed.
The trailer was carrying aluminum casting for car parts.
As of 6 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
