WEST ALLIS -- Described as a recent graduate of West Allis Central High School, an athlete, and an adored son, Croshian “CJ” Edwards Jr. lived only to the age of 19.

“CJ was a very unique individual,” Sijo Baldwin, CJ’s stepfather, said.

“[He was] determined, [and] had his life planned,” he continued.

A planned life CJ can no longer live. Sunday morning he was shot to death inside his home during an attempted robbery.

The suspect in the shooting is a 14-year-old boy who West Allis Police say did not act alone. According to police, the shooting suspect had a 13-year-old male accomplice, but police report the 14-year-old suspect is the one who pulled the trigger.

“Too often we lose young people as a result of ignorance,” Baldwin said. “So, my great question would be why would a 14-year-old have a gun?"

That question, if answered, might better explain the events of Sunday morning, which resulted in a slain CJ Edwards, and his seriously injured 17-year-old brother, Tarjan Edwards, who Baldwin said is in critical condition at a local hospital.
