WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. – A 37-year-old Slinger man was arrested for driving a semi-tractor tanker drunk Tuesday evening. The truck was loaded with 54,000 pounds of cement.
The driver was spotted driving east on STH 33 by Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and almost struck multiple vehicles head-on. One of those vehicles was a Horicon ambulance - which had to take evasive action to avoid a collision and subsequently injured a patient inside the ambulance.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies later found the tanker in a ditch on Interstate 41 in the Town of Polk. Deputies found a bottle of "Red Label"near the driver's seat of the truck.
The man could not recall where he was coming from when he was questioned by deputies. He failed roadside sobriety testing and was arrested for first offense OWI.
