DICKEYVILLE, Wis. -- Deputies in Grant County are searching for a massive snake after someone reported what they believed to be a python "as long as the width of both lanes of traffic" Sunday evening.
Someone called in to the Grant County Sheriff's Office around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to report the snake crossing the road on Highway 61, south of Scoops Drive. It was described as greyish-brown in color.

The Sheriff's Office advises to "keep an eye on small children and pets while they are outside."
"If the snake is located, please do not attempt to capture the snake and call the police, Sheriff Nate Dreckman said in a Facebook post. "A snake of this size is not manageable to capture and can cause injuries."
The Sheriff's Office says it has a plan in place to capture the snake. Call 911 if you see it.
