BEAVER DAM, Wis. -- All public schools in the Beaver Dam Unified School District were closed Friday after and administrator received threats involving guns and explosives, the district said Friday morning.

The threats mentioned that something would happen around 5th period that would harm both students and staff. Schools were closed as a precaution while the district and police evaluated the threat.

"It's kind of disrespectful and it's not right, I never thought that this small town would ever really do that," said Keyara Bromberek, who attends middle school.

Two students have been interviewed by police so far. No arrests have been made.

The superintendent said that all schools will remain closed and events will be canceled until everything is resolved.

"This is an ongoing problem, it's ongoing problem in Beaver Dam, in Dodge County, Wisconsin and our nation," said Superintendent Steve Vessey in a news conference Friday.

"We believe we are close to resolving the issue, however in the interest of protecting our students, staff and community, we will not be holding school," Vessey said in a note posted to Facebook.
