A Racine man faces several charges after police say he tried to buy a belt using two fake $100 bills.

Jeremy Harris, 21, is charged with forgery-uttering, resisting or obstructing an officer and theft under $2,500.

According to a criminal complaint, Harris met a person he had met on Facebook to purchase a Ferragamo belt at a local school, and produced the two fake bills.

  • After noticing the bills were counterfeit, the complainant says Harris and man who came with him ran away.

Police later arrested Harris at his home after tracking his identity through Facebook.

Kenosha Police issued an alert several weeks ago about the fake bills that contain the phrase “For Motion Picture Use Only.”
