MILWAUKEE -- The City of Milwaukee launched a new spring cleaning program this year, and Friday is your last chance to take part.
If you have unwanted items like furniture or mattresses, put them out on your curb, or wherever your garbage is typically collected. The city will pick them up free of charge this weekend, provided you live in certain neighborhoods.
The city has been collecting those items since last month, in a different neighborhood each weekend. It's called "Project Clean and Green."
On this, the final weekend of the offer, much of the east side and downtown can participate. The DPW says that normally, pick up of bulky items can run from $50 to $150.
Some items, however, like construction debris, old paint, paint thinner, and large electronics will not be accepted. Get more information here.
