MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man was shot and killed Monday evening while he was helping a driver who was stuck in the snow, the Milwaukee Police Department says.
Officials have identified him as 43-year-old Clifford Morgan.
It happened around 7:00 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of W. Atkinson Avenue, on the city's north side. Police say Morgan was approached and shot "by an unknown subject."
Emergency officials tried to save his life, but the man died at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured, and did not know the victim.
Police say they don't believe this was a random act. "It appears that the victim was targeted regarding some type of ongoing dispute," a department spokesperson said in an email statement.
The investigation is ongoing. Police don't have a suspect in custody at this time.
