McCartney fans find luck in line at box office

Paul McCartney fans lined up early outside the box office on the Summerfest grounds.

"I didn't want to get them online because of all the fees that were involved and just the traffic that was on there. I tried to get on last night and it just didn't work," said Richard Gardipee.

Adam Ronchetti found out getting in line early didn't guarantee a good spot in line. "Luck. Because they do the lottery system. So I actually moved to the back of the line to space it out, and the little kid just pulled my number. So luck," he said.
Tickets started at $63 for the lawn and went up to $343 for the first three sections.

Karen Braam Nook got two bleacher tickets but needed six. "They had more expensive tickets, but I called my niece and my sister and at $268 a ticket they didn't want it," she said.

She considered buying the more expensive tickets anyway. "I asked Allison if she'd rather have tickets than an appliance for a wedding gift. She's a practical girl."

Summerfest said the Paul McCartney show sold out.
