MILWAUKEE- A mother wants to know who beat up her sons at Summerfest, leaving one of them with permanent brain damage.

"I want to know how and why," said Joan Brunn, the victim's mother.

Police tell TODAY’S TMJ4 that the two men, both of whom are Brunn's sons, got into a verbal altercation with several people July 8 on the Summerfest grounds.

"Someone must have jumped on his head, beat him up, and kicked him because he has three brain bleeds.  The whole frontal forehead was broken, a left broken eye socket, broken nose, broken ear, bruising on the stomach," Brunn said.

Cameron Brunn, 28, was hit in the head and lost consciousness.  His younger brother, Evan, was also punched and can't remember much about the incident.

"Turned around to look and he saw Cameron getting punched and he went right down. Somebody came and hit Evan in the back of the head and he was out," Brunn said.

Brunn says Cameron was on life support when she first saw him. It's been more than two weeks since the incident, and her son still can't communicate. He's also suffering from memory loss.

"It could go from 2010 to 2016 in seconds.  He could know who you are and then forget you in another," Brunn said.

When Cameron gets out of the hospital he'll require around the clock care.

"He'll never be the same, and that's the most heart-wrenching thing I can think of," explained Brunn.

Brunn says police told her the surveillance video is too crowded with people to pinpoint who was involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police.
