MILWAUKEE -- A dog missing from Indiana for two years was reunited with her owner in Milwaukee this week.

Jackie the pit bull was brought in to MADACC as a stray. Her microchip led animal control to contact her owner in Indiana, who made the trip to pick her up Thursday.

"They were reunited, and it was an awesome experience," MADACC's Kathy Shilling says. "She very obviously recognized him, and he was really happy to see her. Just made us the importance of microchipping your animal."

There's no word on how the dog may have made it to Milwaukee. The owner says it gained weight, which leads animal control to believe someone took the dog in.
