A Milwaukee woman faces several DUI charges after crashing a vehicle with four children inside Saturday.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the 42-year-old driver struck a wall in the northbound lanes of I-43 at W. National Avenue at 7:30 p.m.

Authorities say none of the children were in safety restraints. The minors, aged 1, 3, 12, and 13, were transported to the hospital, treated for injuries and released.

Officials say the driver was argumentative with a sheriff's deputy at the scene and admitted to drinking "multiple margaritas and wine coolers at a swimming pool" before the crash.

The vehicle had a heavy amount of damage and the airbag deployed during the crash.

  
The woman was booked at the Milwaukee County Jail and faces charges of first-degree DUI with a child under 16 years old, two counts of first-degree DUI with a child under 16 years old causing injury and a count of second degree recklessly endangering safety. She was also cited for She was also cited for operating while suspended, failure to have a child fastened in a seat belt and operating without insurance.

Child Protective Services was notified and the children were turned over to relatives.
