Milwaukee Police are investigating the death of a three-month-old child.

It happened at an apartment building at 836 North 28th Street.  Neighbors said police arrived around 7:00 a.m. Despite, CPR efforts the child did not survive.

Milwaukee County Medical examiner reported that an autopsy will be carried out on Monday. The baby’s parents were taken into custody for questioning around noon.
Sheila Toombs, the infant's grandmother, did not want to talk on camera but told TODAY'S TMJ4 that the baby’s name is Deshelya.

While her son, Deshaun Toombs, is being accused by residents in the building for the baby’s death, Sheila believes her son did not harm Deshelya.

The grandmother claims her son called her around 8 a.m. and said, “She woke me up and told me the baby was not breathing.”
