A cooking fire is being blamed for causing around $50,000 in damages to a Milwaukee apartment complex.
The fire broke out around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning near the intersection of 7th and Galena Streets.
Fire crews say the fire was confined to one apartment building on the second floor and was quickly extinguished. Smoke detectors were working and the occupant of the unit was able to get out.
No one was injured.
The American Red Cross was on the scene to assist residents.
