A 22-year-old man led Dodge County deputies on a chase by car and by foot before crashing and eventually being taken into custody.

Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the pursuit started during a traffic stop on State Highway 49 near Shamrock Road in the Town of Chester.

The 22-year-old fled that traffic stop, dragging a Sheriff's Lieutenant for a short distance. The Lieutenant was treated for minor injuries at Waupun Memorial Hospital and was released.

Deputies continued to pursue the man into Waupun.

The man then lost control of his car and crashed at the intersection of E. Main Street and Watertown Street.

He then fled that scene on foot but was later taken into custody at a home in Waupun.

Officers also say they searched other locations, including the National Rivet & Manufacturing Company,  before finding the man.

The man was arrested and booked into the Dodge County Detention Facility,.

Charges are pending, but may include Knowingly Fleeing an Officer and Obstructing an Officer causing injury.

Other charges could be requested as the investigation continues.
