MILWAUKEE -- May 1, 2016 is the new target date to re-open at least one of the three Mitchell Park Domes.
All three have been closed for weeks, because of falling concrete concerns. County leaders are testing a wire mesh that would be wrapped around the affected concrete.
It will take a million dollars to fix all three domes.
County Executive Chris Abele is going to the county board because he only has half the money in funding to fix the "Show Dome."
It would be only a five to fifteen year fix.
"It gives us some time to, while the public enjoys it, to have that public discussion about whats next going forward," said Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele.
If the board approves the money to fix the domes, they would reopen by October.
You can learn more about how county leaders plan to repair The Domes Wednesday night at a public hearing.
It begins at 6 p.m. at the greenhouse next door to The Domes.
