State lawmakers are calling for action on a bill that would legalize medical marijuana in Wisconsin.
Under the bill, patients could have access to medical marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation.
One veteran says access to medical marijuana is a better alternative to opioid use.
"We've all served our country and we're all honorable people and we're looking for an honorable alternative to what we've been given,” said Andrea Roberts, a marine veteran. “Being on opioid medications for long term is not a fix for anyone of us.”
The bill was introduced in February, but no action has been taken since.
