The Menomonee Falls-based department store Kohl’s donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts in Texas after Harvey landed last week.
The company said in a news release the money will be used for emergency supplies and services in the areas facing severe flooding and other damage caused by the storm.
“Hundreds of thousands of families have been displaced or impacted by Hurricane Harvey and at Kohl’s, we are grateful to be in the position to provide financial support to aid in emergency relief services,” said Michelle Gass in a statement, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer. “In addition to supporting the communities we serve, we are also providing assistance to our associates who have been directly impacted by the storm to help as they recover. Our
hearts are with the people of Texas and across the Gulf Coast.”
Kohl’s will also offer an estimated $1 million in support to its associates impacted by the storm.
The company said it’s also encouraging its associates to volunteer in relief efforts thought its volunteer program.
