MADISON -- Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has transferred $3.5 million to the state's Elections Commission, officially triggering a recount in Wisconsin.
The commission tweeted the news Tuesday afternoon:
Wire transfer of $3,499,689 from @DrJillStein has arrived at Wisconsin Elections Commission.

A judge in Dane County will also consider Tuesday whether or not to order a hand recount of ballots in all 72 Wisconsin counties. Stein requested that hand recount Monday. You can watch a live feed of that hearing here:
Now that the payment is official, the recount will begin in earnest this Thursday. You can see a full timeline here.
