Hillary Clinton won the New Jersey Democratic primary on Tuesday, setting in motion a victory declaration as the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party and the first woman in history to lead a party ticket, reports Politico.
To date, Bernie Sanders still refuses to  suspend his White House bid.

“It may be hard to see tonight, but we are all standing under a glass ceiling right now. But don’t worry, we’re not smashing this one," Clinton said at her New York headquarters.

Clinton is now on a course likely to face Donald Trump in November, after reaching 2383 delegates, the requirement to clinch the nomination, according to the Associated Press.

Tuesday was a busy night for Trump who is the projected Republican winner in New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

During a speech at one of his New York golf courses, Trump said, “The Clintons have turned the politics of personal enrichment into an artform for themselves.”
