A Milwaukee man has been charged with armed robbery, despite his polite demeanor.
Vincenzo Damato, 34, reportedly robbed the Speedway gas station on Bluemound Road in the early morning hours of last Monday, according to the criminal complaint.
Damato reportedly demanded cartons of cigarettes and all the cash in the register, sticking a gun in the gas station clerk’s face. After he got his loot, he told the clerk, “Thank you, have a good day.”
After Damato ran from the gas station, police officers tracked him down and found him behind a dumpster nearby. Officers found him with the cigarettes and $168.
Damato was also wanted for burglaries of a Walker’s Point apartment building earlier this month, where he’s accused of stealing packages from the building’s lobby.
Damato has been charged with armed robbery, resisting an officer and burglary. If convicted he faces a max sentence of more than 50 years in prison.
