MILWAUKEE -- Former US Senator Herb Kohl is surprising teachers with yet another $500,000 gift, TODAY'S TMJ4 partner the Milwaukee Business Journal reported Monday.

The gift, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, will provide matching funds up to $500,000 for all Wisconsin teacher projects on the crowdfunding website DonorsChoose.org.

Starting this week, all Wisconsin DonorsChoose projects will be funded dollar-for-dollar until a total goal of $1 million is met.

This isn't the first time Senator Kohl has shown his love for Wisconsin's teachers. In September, he surprised teachers by funding every Wisconsin project on the same website.

“As the school year winds down, we hope this offer to match donations will kick-start teachers’ plans for next school year and inspire more individuals to support the people doing the one job that makes all other jobs possible – our teachers,” Kohl said in a statement.
