SUSSEX, Wis. (AP) -- A Sussex firefighter is accused of driving a fire truck while intoxicated.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the firefighter was placed on leave as soon as he learned of the incident Monday. Curtis says the firefighter was driving the truck during a Memorial Day event and hit a parked car.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department called the State Patrol to investigate because of a possible conflict of interest. Officials say the firefighter failed several field sobriety tests.
The State Patrol says the firefighter was driving with an expired license. He was booked and released from jail.
