JEFFERSON, Wis. – There were no magical moments for Harry Potter fans this past weekend in Wisconsin.
A weekend of wizardry in the City of Jefferson is leaving fans cursing. Some say the festival did not live up to their fantasies.
Fans report they had to wait in long lines for everything, the festival food was sold out, and events had an additional fee -- despite the $30 admission rate.
“Lines that were multiple blocks long and people in those lines came out and said ‘It wasn't worth your time, turn around,’” said Rachel Rury, who attended the festival. “People were really disappointed by the time they had waited hours in line for something.”
The City of Jefferson is debating on whether Harry Potter Fest will return next year. Administrators say the event has potential to be bigger and better -- if some of the kinks are worked out.
