A 22-year old Delavan woman has been arrested after a wild crime spree that spanned two counties.
Police said the woman was impaired and left a path of destruction before she was arrested. A police supervisor told TODAY'S TMJ4 the suspect was likely on some sort of narcotics when she stole a truck, crashed into several vehicles and even tried to run down pedestrians.
Elm Grove police dash camera footage caught the tail end of the woman's reckless spree at Highland Drive and North Avenue where she crashed into trees and ran off. Police said this pursuit all started when a woman crashed her car Thursday morning on I-94 West. She ran off and stole a work truck nearby just before 7 a.m.
Minutes later, 911 dispatchers were flooded with calls reporting several incidents involving the same vehicle.
"I just witnessed what was probably an attempted break-in at my neighbor's house and they fled to get away when they saw me run out and they ran over my neighbor's mailbox," said one caller.
Rachel Corwin's mailbox near Lata Vista Drive and Lone Tree Road was shattered all over her neighbor’s yard.
"I left about 7 o'clock and I pulled back into my driveway at 7:10 and within that 10 minute period someone had come apparently down the street and my mailbox was smashed to smithereens," Corwin said.
Police said after a series of hit and run crashes, the suspect allegedly even tried to run down pedestrians and vehicles while yelling at them.
"Well, that's kind of a tortured soul I'd say,” Corwin said. “I can fix a mailbox, I think she's got a whole lot of issues that she's got to work out there."

Back at the scene where it all ended, officers tracked the woman down in a field. They soon realized she was wanted for an outstanding warrant in Jefferson County.
The woman involved has yet to be charged so we will not be sharing her name. Police tell TODAY’S TMJ4 they found narcotics in her vehicle.
The driver crashed into a tree on North Avenue and was apprehended after a foot chase.
Several charges are pending, including reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, multiple counts of hit and run and operating under the influence.
