The Dallas Police Department will search for new officers in Milwaukee.
DPD said they're hiring 300 new police officers in 2016-2017. After reading an article about unemployment in the Milwaukee area, Senior Corporal Raymond Milbern said he decided to include the city in his recruitment efforts.
Milbern will hold interviews on Oct. 5 at the Hyatt Place Milwaukee Airport, 200 W. Grange Ave, and on Oct. 6 he will participate in a career fair at The University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
DPD information said the starting salary for an officer ranges from $44,657 to $48,258.
Minimum requirements for the position are as follows:
• UNITED STATES CITIZEN WITH A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE.
• AGE 21 TO 44 REQUIRE 45 COLLEGE CREDIT HOURS W/ 2.0 GPA OR
• AGE 19 ½ TO 20 REQUIRE 60 COLLEGE CREDIT HOURS W/ 2.0 GPA.
• NO FELONY OR CLASS A MISDEMEANOR CONVICTIONS.
• NO CLASS B MISDEMEANORS CONVICTIONS WITHIN THE LAST 10 YEARS.
• NO CLASS C MISDEMEANORS CONVICTIONS (OTHER THAN MOVING VIOLATIONS) IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.
• EYE SIGHT NOT WORSE THAN 20/100 IN EITHER EYE AND CORRECTABLE TO 20/20.
• NO PENDING TRAFFIC TICKETS OR COURT CASES.
• NOT MORE THAN 2 HAZARDOUS TRAFFIC CONVICTIONS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS.
