MILWAUKEE -- Five-hundred pounds of pig intestines spilled on I-43 in Milwaukee Friday evening.
The incident happened at approximately 4:10 p.m. near Silver Spring Drive.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the truck carrying the load was from Illinois. It is unclear how or why they fell out of the truck.
The spillage did not cause any accidents, but one lane was shut down and caused heavy backups during rush hour.
Hazmat crews were called to clean up the substance.
