Five area fire departments were sent to extinguish a structure fire in the Town of Genesee on Sunday.

The fire occurred around 12:18 p.m. at a motorcycle repair shop, located at: S39 W30675 Wern Way. The nearby auto repair shop was not damaged.

Fire Departments from the Town of Genesee, Town of Vernon, Town of Waukesha, Town of Delafield, and the Village of Dousman responded to the fire.

Waukesha County Sheriff's Deputies reported the building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived to the scene.

Wales-Genessee Fire Chief Jim Moon says an employee suffered minor injuries and his dog was killed in the fire.

"The gentleman had some cuts on his hands from trying to get the door open," said Moon. "We're not gonna take him to the hospital. He did unfortunately lose his dog."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
