MILWAUKEE -- Four people were rescued after their boat overturned in Lake Michigan Sunday morning.

It happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. outside the main gap in Milwaukee Harbor.

A fisherman was able to rescue the two adults and two children, who were all wearing life jackets.

"This particular small boat carrying two adults and two children had rough seas for the boat's size, strong wind, and was manned by inexperienced boaters," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Joel Washbond, a boatswains mate at Station Milwaukee. "They basically had everything going against them."

Washbond said without the life-jackets, this story would have been much different and could have ended with lives lost.

All four were treated for hypothermia and are expected to be OK.
