MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Zoo is welcoming three newborn Siberian tigers.

The cubs were born on September 14 to mother Amba and father Strannik, both 13 years old. It's Amba's second litter.

Right now, the cubs won't be on public display, as they are nursing and still learning how to walk. They're expected to start walking at about three weeks old, and the zoo says their eyes are now open but not yet focusing.

The zoo says that as of October 2, the weights for the cubs were 5.6 pounds, 5.9 pounds, and 6.9 pounds. They're weighed every two to three days to monitor changes in weight.

Because Amba and the cubs won't be on public display for "several weeks," the zoo says to stay tuned to their Facebook page for updates, photos, and videos of the new family.

Another announcement will be made when the cubs are ready to make their big public debut.
