Federal agents, along with state and local law enforcement officers, arrested 19 people Tuesday morning for their alleged connection to drug distribution. All but one of the arrests was made in Milwaukee, the other was in California.

The case is part of a years-long federal investigation into drug and money laundering. More than 200 officers raided locations throughout the Milwaukee area taking the suspects into custody.

They also seized a lot of drugs and money. Authorities say 1 1/2 kilos of heroin, 2 kilos of cocaine, 50 pounds of marijuana, 12 firearms and 1 assault rifle along with more than $500,000 in cash were recovered in the most recent bust.

If proven guilty in federal court, those arrested face life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. The indictment leading to the arrests mentions 21 names. Authorities say they are closing in on the other 2.
