OSHKOSH -- Police are trying to determine whether a Burmese python is on the loose in Oshkosh.

The Oshkosh Police Department says officers were investigating the possibility Thursday after a snake's shed skin was found Tuesday in Menominee Park.
Burmese pythons aren't venomous, but the police department says anyone who spots the snake shouldn't touch it and should keep their distance.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says the snake could be up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 75 pounds.
