A judge set a $1 million cash bond for Daniel Evans, 52.
Evans, who was just released from prison in February, has at least 20 charges from multiple home invasions in the county.
Evans is most notably known for breaking into an elderly couple's home and brutally beating them looking for money and drugs.
"The defendant himself described himself as an escape artist," said a Kenosha County Prosecutor.
Evans, a career criminal has 29 prior convictions.
"If he's convicted, there is a great likelihood that he will spend the rest of his life in jail," said the court commissioner.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department describes Evans as a crack addict.
