Investigators responded to the scene of a house explosion in Shawano County Thursday morning. Officials said it happened around 5 a.m. Thursday in the 6000 block of Richter Court in the Town of Wescott.
Officials said the homeowner was out of the state at the time of the explosion. We still don't know if anyone else was inside the house at the time of the blast.
Investigators say they don't believe the explosion happened because of a natural gas leak, but they have not yet determined a cause.
There is significant damage to the home and it is expected to be a complete loss.
Crews sifted through debris and worked to put out hotspots throughout the morning. The Shawano County Sheriff's Office and State Fire Marshall were both on scene.
