The Manitowoc County Clerk of Circuit court has filed court documents asking for more time to gather records in connection with convicted murderer Steven Avery's appeal for a new trial.
Manitowoc County Circuit Court clerk Lynn Zignunt filed the motion on February 10.
Avery is serving life in prison for his conviction in the 2005 killing of Teresa Halbach. Avery's nephew, Brendan Dassey is also in prision for his role in the crime.
Avery is being represented by criminal defense attorney Kathleen Zellner during the appeals process.
