MILWAUKEE -- A 2-alarm apartment fire left multiple families out in the cold Saturday afternoon on Milwaukee's northwest side.

The fire started just before 3 p.m. at an apartment complex near 64th Street and Florist.

Fire officials say the fire started on the second floor of the 2-story apartment building then quickly spread. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Thankfully, all residents inside were able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.

The building is now inhabitable. The American Red Cross is at the scene assisting those families who were displaced.
