The Wisconsin State Fair is making some major changes to this year's fair after a ride broke a part in Ohio. One person died and several others were hurt when the Fire Ball ride malfunctioned in Ohio last week.
The Fire Ball ride was not scheduled for the Wisconsin State Fair, but a similar ride called the Freak Out had been planned for the Midway.
Organizers with the State Fair said the Freak Out has now been removed from the ride line up.
"We made a decision out of respect for the families and the pending investigation. It was the right thing to not bring the Freak Out to the fair," said Kathleen O Leary with the Wisconsin State Fair.
Inspectors were out Monday testing all the rides at the Wisconsin State Fair.
"We look at all these different areas of assembly and we're looking at any areas that would be high-stress areas where things are welded together typically," said Joe Bixler, a ride inspector.
Organizers say each ride will be inspected three times before opening day.
The Wisconsin State Fair runs from Aug. 3 to Aug. 13.
